HERMES x GWON OSANG

The venerable French house Hermes has again shocked and delighted with its unique window displays.

In celebrating its 2016 theme of ‘Nature at Full Gallop’, and in bringing that notion Down Under for the spring season, Hermes Australia has commissioned South Korean artist Gwon Osang to create a series of works, now on display in the windows of its Sydney boutique. Known for his mixed media sculptures, Mr Osang’s work looks to the history of sculpture as a way of creating something entirely new, in which the works become a pasteboard of inspirations and ideas – a virtual and three-dimensional scrapbook of visual imagery. For the window displays, the artists incorporates photographs of Hermes designs along with male models, objects in his Seoul-based workspace, and Korean national treasures, as well as the Hermes Bolide bag, a key item from the fall/winter 2016 collection, currently in store, with its mischievous smile that peeks outward to the street.
