Recognised by his moniker of the bad boy of the dance world, Sergei Polunin has generated his fair share of column inches since rising to fame as the youngest ever principal dancer of The Royal Ballet, who notoriously quit at the top of his game. In a new documentary, Dancer, Oscar-nominated director Gabrielle Tana (Philomena, On the Ropes) seeks to get inside of the mind of Mr Polunin to discover what it was that drove him to the top - and to leave it all behind. With archival footage (demonstrating Mr Polunin’s outstanding virtuosity) and new interviews, this promises to be a must-see upon its release in September. See the trailer below.
