Ever wondered what the world’s best shoe is? It’s a rather vague and open-ended question, but the team behind online menswear retailer Mr Porter set out to answer it – or at least narrow the pool – with the website’s launch of a revitalised shoe selection under the banner of The World’s Best Shoes. Featuring a curated selection of 13 categories from nearly 100 of the world’s best luxury and designer footwear brands, the launch is marked with eight capsule collections exclusive to Mr Porter, by Edward Green, Grenson, Officine Creative, Viberg, Filling Pieces, Marsell, Neil Barrett and Christopher Kane.
“Since launching Mr Porter we have always aimed to offer our global audience the world’s best shoe brands, whether they are sneakers from New York or handmade shoes from Northampton or espadrilles from Spain,” says Mr Porter’s buying and sales director Toby Bateman. “We now believe that we truly do have an unparalleled selection with the best edit under one digital roof.” And in recognising the growing prevalence of sneakers at the luxury end of the market, also included in the edit are pieces the new editions of the Yeezy x Adidas Originals and Adidas Stan Smiths.
