Later this week, French luxury house Chanel will release a new short film to promote its men’s fragrance Bleu de Chanel. Directed by James Gray (The Immigrant) in Los Angeles, who follows Martin Scorcese by five years, the film’s hero is portrayed by French actor Gaspard Ulliel (Saint Laurent) who shifts between fantasy and reality, as indicated in the above trailer. “I wanted to raise the issue of this craziness inherent to the film world, within which we lead both a comfortable and an uncomfortable life,” says Mr Gray. “In a sense, that is almost a kind of vertigo that comes with the ridiculous and the overflow of attention.”
