Could A.P.C. be expanding its local presence with the opening of a second standalone store in Sydney? If an industry tip-off is anything to go by, the French label has leased a site in the hip residential and dining strip of Crown Street, Surry Hills, right next to upmarket butcher Hudson Meats, with the store set to open this winter. It’s an interesting position for the label, following its first store in Melbourne’s QV Building, a dedicated shopping mall, but that said, A.P.C. caters almost specifically to an inner-east Sydney audience, making the spot a rather perfect choice, and a popularity already evidence by its success at multi-brand boutique Incu. The label was established in 1987 by Jean Touitou, still A.P.C.’s owner and designer, and offers wardrobe-ready basics alongside capsule collections in collaboration with the likes of Nike, Kanye West, Eastpak and Australia’s own Asop.
