THE SHOP AS GALLERY

An abstract exhibition for Calvin Klein shoppers as the American brand collaborates with a star architect.

The Calvin Klein Madison Avenue flagship store will be brought to life this holiday period with a special installation exhibition by Snarkitechture. In collaboration with the Art Production Fund and Clavin Klein Collection, Snarkitechture have created an abstract, starkly winter-white scene made with freestanding white rods, complete with custom model steam trains set to travel on tracks around the New York store.

“We often work in a reduced and simplified palette, so creating this holiday installation for Calvin Klein Collection within their John Pawson-designed flagship store was in many ways an ideal venue for us,” says Alex Mustonen, Snarkitechture’s co-founder. “There is something familiar yet unknown about our scheme, with these customized monochromatic model train sets that are continually circulating through the all-white, abstract space.”
