In celebrating 100 years since the launch of Salvatore Ferragamo – whereupon the 16-year-old emigrated from southern Italy to Boston, and then California, and convinced his brothers to join him in creating a made-to-measure shoemaking service – the brand has produced a special digital project that embraces the notion of making your own rules that Mr Ferragamo lived by.
A Man’s Story, as the online series is called, is a collaboration between filmmaker and photographer Francesco Carrozzini and Salvatore Ferragamo’s creative director Massimiliano Giornetti and tells the unique and intimate stories of an eclectic cast of inspiring gentlemen. Featured are ice hockey player Henrik Lundqvist, musician A$AP Rocky, photographer Ryan McGinley, art dealer Alexander Gilkes, artist Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, actor Douglas Booth and art consultant Tyrone Wood, all wearing pieces from the brand’s new spring 2015 collection.
