AN ARCHITECTURAL UPDATE

Iconic Australian brand Country Road unites with city retail mecca the Queen Victoria Building for a new store.

Three levels of natural light, concrete pillars, a stained glass arch windows and a sculptural white staircase are just some of the defining features you’ll find in the new Country Road store in Sydney’s own Queen Victoria Building. Although the iconic Australian label is no stranger to the grand, domed city retail hub, the opening of their newest location represents a unique creative direction for label and venue alike.“We were thrilled to bring a modern sensibility to the rich, architectural heritage of the space, all in a way that feels distinctly Country Road,” says Sophie Holt, Managing Director of Country Road.

The result is a 600 square meter retail space that compliments the Victorian Romanesque architecture, distinguished by a modern, Scandinavian aesthetic championed by interior specialists Meacham Nockles Mcqualter. Its clean lines, use of raw timbers and crisp white accents culminate in an expansive sense of natural light and space, and will provide a unique shopping experience for all those seeking out the reputable label.
