LUCY RENNICK How would you describe your aesthetic?
THPRKS Sculptural, conceptual and artistic. Thprks is not a company nor is it a brand… it’s just an idea revolving around minimalistic art.

LR What were some personal challenges associated with breaking into the New Zealand fashion scene?
THPRKS Hopefully we do not “break into” the New Zealand fashion scene. We are more than happy to go un seen.

LR The Underground event at New Zealand Fashion Week saw art and fashion come together. How important is this union for your label?
THPRKS We value art and fashion coming together above all as our show at NZFW is a performance art piece inspired by Marina Abramovic and former lover Ulay. Auckland is expanding with young creatives we need shows like Underground to showcase works generally gone unnoticed.

LR What can you tell us about the collection presented as part of Underground?
THPRKS The starting point was looking at our first collection and finding a balance in the chaos that was “born to fail”.

LR How do you plan to develop Thprks?
THPRKS We are trying to create an exclusive club for the unknown losers and failures to join us, we will grow anonymously in the background.
